Titel onderzoek: Recounting Rome’s Resonances: On Deep Listening to Literary Resonance in the Eternal City

Werkzaam bij het KNIR: 14 May - 02 July 2024

Universiteit: Utrecht University

This research will look at contemporary and 20th century tales that are set in Rome; stories of marginalized characters. By applying a theory of ‘resonance’ and a method of ‘deep listening’, it will sonically investigate these tales, and intertextually (or extratextually) analyze them in relation to the urban environment they are set in. It hopefully comes to a better understanding of how they deconstruct the image of Rome as the ‘eternal city’.
