Ted van Aanholt obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Philosophy at Radboud University, specializing in the history of philosophy and focussing on the role of censorship in the history of philosophy. Ted is now working on his PhD project ‘Modernity Contested: the Suppression of Atomism (1640-1680)’ in a Joint Degree programme between Radboud University and Università Roma Tre. Ted has stayed at the KNIR in the spring of 2022 for the masterclass ‘The Humanist and Scholastic Roots of Early Modern Philosophy’. He returned to the Institute in 2024 for a research stay to study sources related to his PhD project at different libraries in and around Rome, like the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma and the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Venice. As one of the ambassadors for Radboud University he is happy to help students with any questions they have.
