Through time, salt has been an extremely valuable commodity. In Latium, during the Bronze Age, salt was widely produced through briquetage, that consisted in evaporating a brine from ceramic vessels. This project aims to study the potsherds found at such sites through petrographic and geochemical techniques in order to get a better understanding both of the sources of clay employed and regarding the salt trade routes in Latium.
