Louis Verreth has studied Classics (BA, MA) and Italian Philology (BA) at KU Leuven. Since 2020 he has been working as a PhD candidate at Leiden University, where he studies the various uses of Antiquity in Neo-Latin verse panegyrics for Lorenzo de’ Medici (1449-1492). In the context of his PhD project, he regularly stays at the KNIR to conduct research on manuscripts and early printed books held by Italian libraries. In June 2022, he co-organised a workshop at the institute entitled “The Return of the Golden Age: The Reception of Golden Age Rhetoric from Antiquity up until the 21st century”.
