My thesis research will focus on gender and youth culture in Fascist Italy, specifically looking at how the Piccole Italiane (PI) were portrayed by Fascist publications, such as magazines, newspapers, photographs, and musical scores. In doing so, I will examine aspects of life in the PI, such as sports, religious belief, entertainment, material culture, participation in organisations and events, and domestic duty.
