Maarten Lindeboom (PhD Leiden University) is a professor of Economics and head of the department of economics at the School of Business and Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is currently editor of the Journal of Health Economics and held longer term visiting position at the University of Michigan (Netherlands visiting Professorship, The Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences) and the University of Bristol (Benjamin Meaker Chair). He is also a crown appointed member of the Socio-Economic Council of the Netherlands and member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities.
His research can be characterized as applied microeconomics in the field of health, labor and ageing.
