Title research: Economic geography in Rome's hinterland.
I will be investigating the economic geography of Rome's suburbium by combining survey data from the Roman Hinterland Project and the road network in the area. Using network modelling and GIS, I aim to reconstruct the road network in this area in as much detail as possible. By extensively collecting both archaeological and historical data on transport infrastructure, I will be creating a database that I and (others) can use.
