Title research: Revealing layers: Digitizing photographic archives for gender and mobility insights.
This thesis explores the digitization of photographic archives, showing how digital methods add interpretive "layers" to often-overlooked visual materials. It emphasizes photography’s historical value and identifies a digital gap in archival methods. By focusing on gender and mobility in early 1900s urban spaces, the study demonstrates how digitization enhances accessibility and context, allowing for a richer analysis of visual archives.
