About this project: Europe has the largest number of artifacts from the New World in Medici collections. My research focuses on four Medici wives from the 16th and 17th centuries and their influence in obtaining these artifacts. They are Eleonora di Toledo (1522-1562), Christine of Lorraine (1565-1636), Maria Magdalena of Austria (1589-1631) and Vittoria della Rovere (1622-1694).
