Ann Rigney is a resident KNIR fellow in the late spring of 2017. During her stay at the KNIR she teaches, together with Joep Leerssen, a Masterclass on Multiscalar Memories: Urbi et Orbi, and organises activities relating to here current research interests.

Ann Rigney (1957) is professor of Comparative Literature at Utrecht University, where she also coordinates the Utrecht Forum for Memory Studies. She specializes in the study of cultural memory and the transnational history of memory cultures since the nineteenth century. She is currently working on a study of memory and protest movements. Rigney is an elected member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (2008) and of the Academia Europaea (2011).
