Dr. Loredana Lorizzo

Loredana Lorizzo is a KNIR Fellow from 1 April 2019 till 31 July 2020 for her research on “Pieter van Laer (c. 1599-1642). catalogo ragionato dei dipinti, dei disegni e delle stampe”.

She is a Professor of History of Modern Art at the University of Salerno where she is teaching “Storia del disegno dell’incisione e della grafica e Letteratura artistica”. From 2009 she is a staff member of the “Dottorato di Ricerca in Metodi e metodologie della ricerca archeologica e storico artistica e dei sistemi territoriali” at the University of Salerno. Her studies are focused on Italian, Flemish and Dutch art between the 16th and 17th century in Italy and Europe, with particular attention on Baroque painting and sculpture. She has been studying the mechanism of the Modern Art Market and the role of merchants in Italy in the 17th century.
