Amber Souleymane studied Dutch Language and Culture (2017-2020) at the University of Groningen. In 2020, she started her Research Master Classical, Medieval and Early Modern Studies. She participated in the practicum Mining Library Treasures in the summer of 2021 at the KNIR and received a scholarship to work there on her master thesis in the spring of 2022. Her research ranges broadly within the Dutch literature of the sixteenth and seventeenth century. She is interested in the ways in which the literary texts of the period relate to their contemporary societies and contribute to societal, religious and intellectual debates, particularly the Reformation and humanism, as well as the philosophy and literary representations of reason and the passions, and the potential of digital approaches.
